Industry Experience

Mollie Nichols is passionate about understanding and leveraging the role of data to develop innovative and defensible technology strategies and solutions for clients faced with electronically stored information challenges in a legal and compliance context. As the CEO of Redgrave Data, Mollie is a mission-driven, collaborative, and visionary leader of the organization guiding a team of business process, technology, and data professionals to produce data driven solutions that efficiently manage and analyze litigation, compliance, and deal data. She drives the strategic relationships with Redgrave LLP, clients, and service providers, and oversees the development of the team’s approach to the search and analysis of client data in matters using advanced technologies, including machine learning, data visualization, and advanced analytics.

Mollie’s extensive background and knowledge in the information law field, which includes more than 35 years of experience as a litigator, law professor, and in law firm management, make her uniquely situated to define Redgrave Data’s strategic framework for identifying, preserving, collecting, reviewing, and producing client data. She also leads the Redgrave Data team in determining how they can best develop and streamline client solutions.

For most of her career, Mollie has focused squarely on issues involving information governance, data protection, and electronic discovery in civil and criminal litigation. Most recently, she has transitioned to focusing her efforts on the business of law and models of delivering innovative data services to clients.

Prior to joining Redgrave Data, Mollie served as the Head of Advanced Client Data Solutions at Hogan Lovells, where she was responsible for developing the global business model for client data technology services. While at Hogan, Mollie was recognized as one of five innovators driving radical change in law firms by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Special Report. Before Hogan, Mollie built an eDiscovery program at Goodwin Procter and was a partner at Redgrave LLP. Mollie has tried more than 25 cases as lead counsel during her career. She was formerly an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Texas, a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas, and worked in private practice as a litigator. She also taught Digital Discovery & Evidence and a Legal Technology seminar at William & Mary Law School in 2004-2005.

Mollie received her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. and LL.M. in International Law from the University of Texas School of Law.
